Our tour begins at the Vinkovci City Museum, where you'll uncover the stories that shaped this historical treasure. With 8,000 years of uninterrupted history, Vinkovci is the cradle of numerous civilizations, from the Neolithic and Roman Empire to the present day.

Alongside Roman artifacts and the famous Orion—the oldest known calendar in Europe—you’ll also dive into the legend of Čaruga, the notorious bandit who, in the early 20th century, robbed wealthy merchants and landowners throughout Slavonia. Legend has it he often frequented Vinkovci’s taverns, disguised himself, and escaped authorities through hidden alleys and the railway network. His story is part of the local identity and continues to fascinate historians, researchers, and curious travelers.
